Scottwax ( auto Detailer)

I first tried the 113 wax on my car. Since my paint is in excellent shape and slick, there was no need to use the clay. I used the terry cloth pad that was enclosed, but only on my car. It seemed to load up with product too quickly and also waste it. Switching to foam hand applicators made application easier and less wasteful. The shine and reflectivity seem similar to Meguairs High Tech Yellow, but the gloss was noticably better-a very wet look. I went over my car with the BeadX to make sure no residue was left. I also used the wax on my black plastic mirrors, and it worked great-an incredible, streak free shine! A very good first impression.

I next used the products on a burgandy Range Rover (a 1996 HSE) which I have taken care of since it was new, usually waxing it with Meguiars every 3-4 months, and the water was still beading just prior to waxing, so it will be a good car to test the durability of the wax. Anyway, the results were similar to my car, good shine with an incredibly wet look. I used the clay on some water spots on the drivers side of the Rover, and while it worked fine, I had some trouble flattening it out-similar to Mother's Clay Bar. Maybe it wasn't a fair test, it was only 53 degrees. Maybe when it is warmer, the clay is more malleable. Hey, this is Texas, we can have 75 degree days deep into December!

Today, I used the 113 wax on a white Acura CL Type-S, a black Acura RSX Type-S and a black Porsche Boxster (sorry, not an S ) As I expected, both the black cars looked great-very wet and glossy, and the 113 wax worked well on clarifying the plastic rear window on the Boxster. What really suprised me was how well the white CL looked. White is so difficult to get a really glossy look, but the guy who owned it was extremely happy with the wet look of the paint.

So far, so good. The wax seems to be everything Michael said it would be-very easy to use, outstanding gloss, won't dry white and leave residue everywhere, and a little goes a long way. Since it is a natural wax (carnuba based), obviously I am not expecting it to last like a synthetic wax-besides, most of my high end customers want their cars waxed often, regardless of wax durability. If the wax lasts as long as Meguiars High Tech Yellow (still beading after about 3 months on cars I regularly clean and control how they are washed), I will be pleased. I also like the fact I can use the wax in the direct sun. As a mobile detailer, that is very important to me. I always try to wax cars in the shade when possible, but some office complexes have no shade at all.

The BeadX is also very good, and leaves behind a slick surface after using it on a green Mercedes C280 that I washed. I had waxed it about 2 months ago, and the BeadX made the surface feel just waxed, like I would expect a quality QD to do.

Anyway, I will continue to evaluate the product and post the results.

BTW, since I used the 113 wax on my car Thursday, I have had 3 people come up to me and tell me how good my car looks. Some guy today couldn't believe my paint on my Accord was not brand new.

I am still having great results with the wax, and both yesterday and today, I used it in the direct sun on black cars-on a Lincoln Continental and the other a Mercedes CL500. In both cases, it spread easily despite the sun-although it was only in the 60's, and wiped off easily. No streaking and no smears, either.

I also used it on a couple cars I wax only every few months, so I can evaluate the durability of the protection. I do know on my car, after two weeks, it is holding up real well--but it sure as hell better be, right? Anyway, when I washed it a week ago, I didn't use the BeadX, just to see how slick it stayed. It rained all Thursday, and I had to drive in the rain, and on Friday when it dried out, my car still looked pretty clean, so I didn't wash it until yesterday. Even with sap from a customer's trees I had to park under on Saturday, it still was easy to wash, and I used the BeadX this time-and the paint felt just as slick as when I waxed it-pretty much what you would expect a good QD to do.

I am definately impressed with the results so far, but I have yet to really need to use the clay. Most of my business the past two weeks have been regulars whose cars never have a chance to get gritty enough for claying. I am using a foam pad for application instead of the terry cloth pad, mostly because it spreads easier and wastes less product

I've been using foam hand pads. I waxed a black Bentley Continental SC today, and there were no scratch marks at all. Believe me, when I am working on a $349,000 car, I take every care to make sure nothing goes wrong. I do wish they would offer a 'pure' wax, though for cars that I wax often.

I waxed a black Ford F-150 in the sun today (temps in the mid 70's), and other than some light dusting problems (and the extemely low humidity might have something to do with it), I didn't notice any scratches in the paint from applying the wax. This is a truck I only wax about every 3 months, but wash every two weeks, so it will be a good test to see if any scratches do show as the wax wears away.

BTW, BeadX does not smear in the sun.

My car is still beading very well 4 weeks after applying 113. I still am evalutating the durability, but looks good so far.

Ok I just did 2 coats on my black f150 and the finish is like glass. I love this stuff! You can wax right over the plastic trim and it shines it up. I have NO swirl marks left in my finish and if you run the back of your little finger down the side it feels like velvet. I know the key is how long it lasts but my truck NEVER looked this nice with Gold Class or Nu Finish or Meguires Liquid cleaner and wax. My neighbors Z06 Vette looks perfect,so deep and glossy. It even smells good. May just be another wax gimick but time will tell. He said the Vette club in Miami all the guys use this stuff. Oh well we'll see how long it lasts

I used to be a die hard Zaino user but now I'm converted to Formula 113. I love it. I went to order some more and noticed they have a new Spray on wax.

I gotta tell ya- this stuff is great! I would swear that my customers are drinking the stuff!!!! I have other waxes on my shelf that have been sitting there for years. I can't keep Formula 113 and Bead X on my shelves. As fast as I put it out, I turn around and it's gone already. My customers know what they want, and I am proud to sell it to them. Wherever they are. I don't just recommend this product to customers, I use it on all our cars- even my 2 race cars. Hey....we gotta look out best while racing the track. 5 STARS ALL AROUND- Awesome Product!!!!!!

Hi. It's just me again. I thought you would just like to know....we sold our last bottle of Formula113 on Saturday to a customer who was little unsure the product would do what we said it would. Well, needless to say I came in to work yesterday and had a voicemail from the customer. He said " I don't know what is in this stuff, but it is amazing!" He was very happy with your product. He said he would be back to purchase the Bead X when we get our delivery. He knew he had bought our last bottle. You have another happy customer in your pocket!

Have a great day!!!

I'm getting of track. I have tried Zaino, Meguires, Klasse, Zymol, Lusso and a host of others. I have found that most are good but some, including Zaino is difficult to apply. Recently I found a product called Formula 113. Guys let me tell you. It shines better, hides swirls better, and applies easier (one step) than any of the above. You guys with black cars like me know full well how swirls kill a shine. Has anyone else here used it? If so are there any long term effects I should know about? Also what do you guys use to remove wax or polish from body guards? Tryb this stuff guys, I would love to here from you. Till then......

I am a former Detail Shop owner. I've tried most of them. I swear by FORMULA 113. I found it at SEMA in Vegas in 1998 when I had my shop. I just placed an order last week for more. I found it is the best on DARK colors aspecially BLACK. Can be applied in direct sunlight. NO powder when you remove it. NO crud in cracks. NO white chalky look on textured plastic. Smoothes out swirls in black.

I was skeptical of the claims Mike, the owner made in Vegas but he gave me an ounce sample. I waxed my black car with it and the next week I ordered a gallon.

I use Formula 113. It works great. I buy it by the case and sell it to my friends. It also works great on dark cars because it doesn't have the pasty white film.

Formula 113 car wax is super! It’s a liquid paste that goes on easy and just the slightest amount (1-2 oz, emphasis on the 1) will do your entire Miata. They have various detailing kits or just the wax in various sizes. They hype it as a “microbrewed” wax, made in small batches in Yonkers, NY, but wow does it work! What a shine! My black 94 never looked so good (even with acid rain pits). You can apply this stuff in direct sunlight ( if you want or have to) and doesn’t leave any chalky residue down in the hood, door, or trunk gaps. It makes the black rubber trim blacker and no streaks on the body. This stuff also lasts a long time on the car. I get nothing but compliments on the car and lots of questions on “what did you use on your Miata”? Several of the guys at work use it on their Beemers, Vettes, Harleys, and their everyday cars/! trucks.

At a recent car show I was impressed with an awesome shine on a black camaro and since I have a black RKC I asked the owner what he used for wax. He used Formula113 wax and Beadx detail spray and since I have tried it and really like it ! I am no way personally connected with this product (other than a recent fan).

With regard to quality of shine turtle wax. mothers and meguiars are good but I personally prefer formula113 not because I cater to the product but because of personal experience. I've tried almost every other product there is in the market but I was satisfied only with formula113.

Hey guys. I have come across this new wax and detail products that are by far better than anything I ever used. Here is the website if any of you are interested. I would recommend it to everyone and it is time to say goodbye to all my Meguiars products. They just don't compare to this new stuff.

I was at a car show today with my friend here in Rochester. Well her uncle sells this wax stuff. Kinda reminded me of Zaino. But a lot cheaper and Holy Shitz its a one coat wax. I did my whole car filthy as hell I mean nasty. bugs. dust. sap ect ect. This stuff is making my car shine better then anything I have tried, Zaino included. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow since its 11pm now. I don?t rave about any of the products out there specially waxes and stuff .I'll bring some to the V6 race in Canada so people can try it.. Its called Formula 113 and Bead X.

Hey guys....

just wondering what kind of wax to you all use?

For the last 2 years, I have been using Forumla113 for years prior to me using it, I would see a local dealer at all the local car cruises selling it. My first impression was that if its not in the stores that it was crap. In talking with a bunch of Vette guys about this stuff, they swore up and down that its greatest stuff. Aside from the killer shine it puts on my cars, there are some other benefits. You can apply it directly in the sun....it wont streak or anything and will still be easy to remove. The wax doesn?t cake up in the emblems, and in my opinion, the most important thing is that it doesn?t attract dust.

My mom's black lexus had a coat of formula 113 and man, it looks amazing. it's easily the best polish I ever used. for me Meguiar's gold class polish was the worst.

I got to plug this product. formula113. The guy that detailed my '03 blk uses this stuff and when I got home, I told my kid to look at the hood. She did and says so what? I told her to really look at the hood and she almost fell on the car. My car never looked so blinging before. My detailer won the Meguiares nationals last year using the stuff. I just bought the show car kit.

Not to start another wax thread...but just was wondering if anyone used the ice yet. every spring new products come out. once I found Formula113 I never used anything else. that's one thing about wax, everyone has a favorite

You also have to realize that this was a daily driven 8 year old car. I happen to possess the same car (except a GT) and it shows wear and tear on the paint. I use a product called "Formula 113". This is the most amazing stuff I've ever seen. Works flawlessly . Easy on, easy off and does not turn white in the crevices. Just an FYI. Was a good show though

My coworker turned me on to this product called Formula 113. They sell a wax product for the paint and a detail spray called Beadx for everything else. I've been doing "The Karate Kid" wax on...wax off routine for 40 years but this stuff works the best. You can even use beadx on the glass and it won't make your wiper blades chatter like Rain-X did on my cars.

When it's really sunny and I just feel the urge to wax or touch up, I use formula 113. It leaves behind no dust, produces High quality shine and can be used in direct sunlight. Oh, and you can put the wax all over your car, let it sit for a few hours, even days, and take it off like it was just put on. The stuff is amazing.

Posted on 1-22-04 @ www.automotiveareana.com by Tempdream

The Bead-X spritz they sell is the best I've tried so far. The formula113 wax is great too. No white residue if you get some on the seat or textured black plastic stuff either.

Seems most people here have their minds made up on the wax they prefer and it may be hard to get anyone to change their minds. I for one, use Formula 113 and will not switch to any thing else. For the protection offered by Zaino and F113, the price of the F113 is a WAY better deal. I've used both and I'll stick with the stuff that works just as good for 1/6th price and doesn't take all day to apply...

This Formula 113 stuff is incredible! I just bought the Spray wax for my bike it's quick and easy (getting to old and easy is good). Sprayed it on a pad, coated the tank and fenders and buffed off. The shine is unbelievable!! Looks wet. My buddies used my bottle on their bikes, must have done about 10 bikes with this 32 ounce bottle and didn't even make a dent in the bottle. OK I'm hooked now throw all my other waxes away. See you guys at the beach Sunday!

Jim

I received my Bead-X in record time and in fine condition, I tried some on the back of our Intrepid....seems to work as advertised. I found an area on my dodge ram that wasn't covered in salt and stuff from the road.......hmmm, this sh.......stuff ain't bad at all. Next after recovering from a "senior moment"m I remembered my wife trying to remove some sort of film from her new GE stove. The film resembled grease and would not come off using Windex in all it's forms, Mr. Clean, all those household products would only smear the stuff around. Do, I says...Let me try some Bead-X..... Bead-X to the rescue! One little spray, rub the Bead-X around and that ugly film was gone, as in disappeared. There is nothing but a smooth silky shine on the front of the stove where the control knobs are.

Whoever compounded the Bead-X and the Formula 113 have done a great job! Thank you for a superb product.

Thanks again,

Pete Chestnut

Hey Guys

I'm not the kinda of guy that gives out praise and take the time write stuff , but I heard from some guys about this product at a car show, I ordered the One Step Wax kit on this site www.Formula113NY.com recieved it super fast and couldn't wait for a nice day to try it. I tried it on my wife's daily driver 2004 BMW first and couldn't believe the shine, it looked like it just came from the showroom. So now I did my 2007 Corvette and again the shine is unbelievable and it's so easy to use this stuff. I started to tell everybody about this product and don't understand why the guys on the Corvette Forum bad mouth Formula 113 without even trying it. I am so glad I used it before listening to them. I know a car wax is a personal thing everybody has their opinions, but how can you say its bad without trying it. I made my choice and it's Formula 113 for me. Easy to use, best overall shine and price made my choice an easy one. Oh and the detail spray is probably the best stuff I ever used.

Hi Guys

It's early Sunday morning and I just finished watching an infomercial about Turtle wax "ICE". It seemed funny that this big company just came out with this product similar ( but not as good) to Formula "113" which has been around for over 13 years. I have been using Formula 113 for years and will continue using it, it makes sense to go with the original than go with a big company copy cat. Your products ROCK!!

Your wax made the difference in winning or loosing at the olds nationals.

I went to hang out with friends, and entered the show to get a good parking spot, really.

I ended up wining first in my class, and Best of Class. I was humbled and to be honest, surprised.

This was my first show other than Ocean City, since doing a frame off restoration. The paint was done before I bought the car. It is a good job, but not great. Your wax made it great!

Hey Big D

I bought your one step wax at Belmont race track in the Spring. I have a detail shop and had a hard time getting those black cars to glow without smears and high spots, also tried of the powdery residue in the seams. Your one step wax is the BEST!!. I get praise from many of the owners that their car never looked so good. Of course I take the credit, but we both know it's the Formula 113 . I tried it on the white cars-- man I never saw a white car gleem like that. I used to use the cheep stuff on the light color cars, but now I use 113 on all, it's good for business.

Hey D I will be calling you for the 32 oz very soon

L.T.

Hey Guys

Just wanted to give you the heads up. A friend of mine just bought this product here on long Island that looks like Formula 113 similuar color and packaging but doesn't work like Formula 113 products, Be aware of imitators and stick with the original Formula 113 products. By the way my friend dumped the other crap out and bought Formula 113 at the show yesterday. Gotta go with what you know and works the best and you guys have it!!

Just have to say I love the new products. I bought the Metal Polish in the cotton worked great on my chrome sidepipes and bumpers. My wife tried it on some of her silverware, again easy to use and the shine brilliant. I also bought the TireRiffic little black tire applicator, love it , now I don't have to worry about getting the dressing on my rims. Great idea who ever came up with that!!

Steve M

Well ,Im sold! this product is AWESOME! Took half the time to apply it and my truck looks like it just came out of the showroom.

Im not going to use any other product as long as I know Formula 113 is around.

Feel free to use this as a testomonial.

Enclosed is an image of my truck. If you need any photographs, let me know.

Thanks again,

Wax Daddy Team,

I have never in my life ever used such an amazing product. Your formula 113 one step wax is by far the absolute best wax product hands down that I have ever used or witnessed. I used it for the first time on my black corvette which shows every small imperfection due to its color. It went on so easy and wiped off with ease. Half the car was in full sun on an 85 degree day while the other side was in the shade. There was absolutely no difference in buffing on either side. Its now been two weeks since I waxed it, three rain storms, and about 50 miles of driving, and It still looks like I just waxed it today. Every imperfection was hidden, small oxidation spots rejuvenated, and the color is deep and rich. I recommended your products to all my friends and I continue to receive so many compliments and questions about your products. I will only be using all of your products for all of our vehicles and I plan to start stocking up. Thanks so much for creating the best car cleaning products!

Sincerely,

Ian
